There are many, many SEO experts out there all claiming to be the best on the planet. However, whether they really are as good as they say they are is another matter altogether.
The best way to establish if they are that good is to check their Google ranking. One great tool is Alexa which although is just an indication of a websites ranking, it does allow you to see if a site is improving it's Google ranking or if it is on the way down!
If you find a company you might be tempted to sign up to is not doing that well in the ranking stakes themselves, the chances are they won't be able to do much for you either so it's best to leave well alone and find an SEO expert who can!
