Introduction

Pugs have been around for a very long time with records of them dating back to 700 BC in Ancient China where they were bred and owned by Emperors. The common people were not allowed to own a Pug and if one of these treasured dogs was found in their possession, the punishment was death. Pugs were so revered at the time, they even had their own part of royal palace to live in and were attended by their own servants too. Female Pugs were given the same status as an Emperors wives and guarded by soldiers, only being fed the best of everything.

The Dreaded Cone of Shame

Another great article from Pets4homes

It's every dog's (or other pet) nightmare when suddenly someone puts a massive lampshade on their heads. Watching a dog trying to navigate through doorways can be highly amusing - but not for the pooch who is wearing the Cone of Shame!

They seem to bump into things on purpose in the hope the lampshade falls off - but it takes a real Houdini to get one of these things off...............

Definitely worth checking out the alternatives, although Elizabethan Collars, as the article points out, is the best tool to keep a dog from licking and chewing at a wound!
