Ten articles - great topic - social media, to be delivered in 10 days. Love working for Opticopy - stress-free experience every time and never any issues with payment = what more could a freelance writer ask for? Tom C just completed another brilliant project for another very satisfied customer - check out the review....
Rob W. Worthing, GB Tom took what I thought was an easy task, it clearly wasn't, he identified how it worked, translated what needed to be done and got it to work. Brilliant. Need to get a PHP script? This could be the man for the job! I typically work on database-driven systems for people using PHP, Java and anything else that is needed. I'm comfortable with HTML, Javascript and CSS as well as working with most SQL systems. I've also got experience using Wordpress and the Symfony framework. I worked as an in-house web systems developer for 5 years, working with a custom java framework and it was a pretty cool company. In the end though I decided I couldn't cope with the gaps between projects, especially having to sit on my hands (!) because the next big project was "urgent" despite not being ready for me to work on yet. I've worked with agile teams for the last 5 years and before that I was at university, first achieving a Masters in Physics and Theoretical Astronomy and then one in Computer Science (partly to polish what I already knew and partly to show the recruitment agencies I was competent there too). I still love Physics and Maths so any projects with a numerical analysis or scientific background would be fantastic. Right now I'm spending my time learning about new technologies and volunteering for a few places. I'm happy to try my hand at writing or coding in new and exciting languages. So far I've picked up different CMS technologies with ease and I look forward to continue my progression as I work. Want to get in touch with Tom? Sadly, the experience should have been good except for the fact the person in charge of the project lacked the necessary skills to handle things in a professional manner. Neither were they there to answer any questions or queries - simply replying the following when I had the cheek to critique her way of communicating:
"I was giving you enough time to realise that your questions could be answered in the brief attached in the original job posting. My 3 stars review for you was generous." Extraordinary attitude and approach to their work - let's hope they are not indicative of the rest of the people who work for the company which is movehub.com. Having the luxury of writing for The Lonely Planet on a regular basis - all I can say is they are in no way in the same league - movehub.com needs to wake up and rein in any of their arrogant staff - one of which can be found here - yet another faceless entity on the Net who thinks anonymity is an acceptable barrier to hid Opticopy just finished a job writing breed profiles for Pets4homes, the UK's most successful pet website.
